Classical outdoor music festival opens in locality of centre district of Moldova

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ – The 4th issue of the Outdoor Classical Music Festival DescOpera was inaugurated on the evening of Thursday, 14 June, in Butuceni village, part of the Orheiul Vechi cultural and natural reserve.
The performance, entitled Rapsodii de Butuceni was supported by the artists of the Symphonic Orchestra of the National Philharmonic Serghei Lunchevici, Academic Coral Chapel Doina and soloists Ruxanda Panfili (violin), Sergiu Musat (clarinet) and Marin Gheras (pen – pipes) and conductor Friedrich Pfeiffer, Austria.
At the concert, there were performed works by George Enescu, Alexei Starcea, Ferenc Liszt, George Gershwin, Emmanuel Chabrier, Pablo de Sarasate, Emil Cossetto, Maurice Ravel etc.
Attending the event, the state secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Andrei Chistol, stated that the Classical Music Festival DescOpera being one of most important cultural events organised in Moldova, which enjoying an increasing popularity.
Today, the audience will be presented in two acts Elixirul Dragostei by Gaetano Donizetti, directed by Rodica Picireanu, conductor – Tiberiu Soare. Cast: soprano Valentina Nafornita, Florin Guzga (Romania), Mihai Dogotari, Iurie Maimescu and Tatiana Dulghier.
The festival will end on Sunday, 16 June, with performance Perpetuum Mobile, supported by the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic Serghei Lunchevici, in which it will be heard several pieces of Johann Strauss, fragments of the works that echoed in previous years: Rigoletto, Carmen, Nabucco performed by soloists Ljubica Vranes (Serbia), Ana Cernicova and Vladimir Dragos.
This festival is organised by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC), National Theatre of Opera and Ballet Maria Biesu and National Philharmonic Serghei Lunchevici with the support of strategic partners: the Investment Agency of Moldova, USAID, Sweden Sverige and UKaid. The first issue of the outdoor classical music festival DescOpera took place in June 2016 and it was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova.
