Moldova's ambassador to USA resigns from office

Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/- Moldova's Ambassador to the United States Cristina Balan announced today she resigned from office.
The diplomat wrote on a social network that she returned to the country on a planned annual leave and as a "politically appointed person, I resigned as Ambassador of Moldova to the USA".
"It was an honor to represent Filip government and I wish the new team the best," Cristina Balan said.
Last weekend, newly-appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicu Popescu announced that he had recalled Cristina Balan to Chisinau for consultations.
On 14 June, PDM announced it had decided to withdraw from the government by resigning the government led by Pavel Filip.
