State Protection and Guard Service to be subordinated to Moldovan president

Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/- The State Protection and Guard Service will pass from the premier’s subordination to that of the President of the Republic of Moldova. A draft law to this effect was adopted today.
Under the document, the service will be subordinated to the President of the Republic of Moldova who shall be entitled to appoint head and deputy head of the institution.
Structure and staff limit of SPPS will be set by presidential decree. The head of state will also provide special grades for leadership and service members.
The draft, which provides for the passing of the SPPS under the authority of the head of state, was voted last week, but was sent for a presidency review requesting the document to come into force upon adoption and not within 30 days as indicated in the draft.
