Inquiry commission to clear up circumstances of attempt to organize constitutional coup d'etat in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament, at a today’s meeting, set up a commission of inquiry for clearing up the de facto and de jure circumstances concerning the attempt of constitutional coup d’etat.
The commission will be made of nine lawmakers on behalf of all parliamentary parties and will be led by an MP of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Vladimir Turcan. Thus, the PSRM faction will be represented by lawmakers Vladimir Turcan, Grigore Novac and Victor Gaiciuc. Parliamentarian Mihai Popsoi was nominated on behalf of the faction of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), ACUM bloc, and Dinu Plangau will represent the faction of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, ACUM bloc. The faction of the Moldovan Democratic Party (PDM) refused to delegate members to this commission and the faction of the Shor Party was absent from the parliament meeting.
Under the draft, the commission of inquiry will involve in its work all competent state’s authorities, will hear the sides and people involved and will submit to parliament, in a 60-day period, a report on the de facto and de jure circumstances regarding the attempt of constitutional coup d’etat of the Democratic Party, carried out through the Constitutional Court and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
