Yellow Code of heat issued by upcoming weekend in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 June /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced the Yellow Code of heat on 21 – 23 June.
After a period of atmospheric instability, in indicated range of Moldova, it will be covered by heat, and on extended areas the maximum air temperature reaching up to 33ºC – 34ºC.
Within context, the physicians caution especially elderly, pregnant women, children and patients with cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, allergic persons to avoid exposure to the sun, opt for open clothing, preferably from natural cloth, cover their head and maintain hydration.
Also, the authorities will ensure the activity of tents against heat, as to provide the necessary care and medical assistance.
According to the SHS’s information and media communication service, on 21 June, there might repeat rainfalls with electric discharges, mainly in the northern and central regions of Moldova.
The experts estimate that this June could become the warmest within recent few years, with heat warnings being less common for this period.
In case of the Yellow Code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous, with forecast meteorological phenomena (aversion, electric discharge, wind intensification, high or low temperatures, risk of flow increases and levels in rivers and rivers, etc.) which are common for Moldova, but temporarily can become dangerous for certain socio – economic activities.
