Moldova to relaunch, intensify bilateral relations with all external partners

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/ – The have been discussed the issues of vision on promotion of foreign policy of Moldova, results of working visits in France and the USA, agenda of contacts and bilateral visits abroad in upcoming future and consolidation of legal basis for social guarantees for the Moldovan diaspora abroad on June 21, at the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, with the representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau municipality, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
Minister Nicu Popescu has informed foreign diplomats about the foreign policy priorities of the Government of Moldova and its mandate, also referring to agenda of visits abroad. Also, the Moldovan diplomat thanked the foreign partners for unconditional support that was given to the new Moldovan Government during the transfer of power in Chisinau, telling the present about the results of the first official contacts.
"The foreign policy of Moldova will be subordinated primarily to the interests of our citizens, both of the country and of those who are abroad. We want to relaunch and intensify bilateral relations with all foreign partners of Moldova, the first visits being made to Paris and Washington," said the Moldovan Foreign Minister.
Also, regarding the connection of the foreign policy of Moldova to the internal agenda of Moldova, Minister Popescu specified: "We believe that with the implementation of the structural reforms in the main areas, implementation of measures to fight corruption and achieve the reform within justice, which stems from the EU – Moldova Association Agreement, we can ensure economic stability, which will let us attract investment and create new jobs. This will permit us to promote a stronger and more effective foreign policy."
In a distinct way, Minister Popescu addressed foreign diplomats with the request to facilitate the negotiation and conclusion of bilateral treaties on social security of Moldovan citizens, conversion of driving licences, mutual recognition of study papers, etc. "We already have several requests of this kind from Moldovan citizens and we intend to solve these issues in operative terms."
