European Parliament's delegation to visit Moldova

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/ - A delegation of the European Parliament (EP) will come to Chisinau in early next week. The MEPs will assess the political situation in Moldova and will exchange opinions with the new cabinet’s representatives.
The delegation will be made up of four MPs. On 24 June, they will meet Prime Minister Maia Sandu, President Igor Dodon, Foreign Affairs Minister Nicolae Popescu, Interior Minister Andrei Nastase, Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii, as well as the head of the parliamentary faction of the Democratic Party (PDM), Pavel Filip.
According to a press release by the European Parliament, the visit’s goal is to evaluate the political situation on the spot, following the recent crisis and to sum up the current relations between Moldova and EU.
The delegation will be led by Chair of the EP’s Foreign Affairs Committee David McAllister (European People’s Party, Germany). The delegation will also include Siegfried Muresan (European People’s Party, Romania), Claire Moody (Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, the United Kingdom) and Heidi Hautala (Greens –Free European Alliance, Finland).
