Meteorologists inform about Yellow Code of storm, after warning of heat in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - Meteorologists have forecast a new Yellow Code of atmospheric instability till 25 June. The warning completes the Yellow Code of heat, extended today till 26 June.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS), on the concerned period, thunderstorm rains are expected all over Moldova, heavy ones in some regions (15-25 litres/square metre), with hail and strong wind gusting to 15-20 metres/second.

At the same time, the Yellow Code of heat is valid till 26 June too. Meteorologists noted that, on this period, the maximal air temperature would reach +33 Celsius degrees almost in all regions. At night, the air temperatures will stand at +21 degrees.

In case of Yellow Code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous; the meteorological phenomena forecast (thunderstorm rains, wind gusting, high or low air temperatures, risk of increase in the flow and level of rivers and small rivers, etc.) are usual for Moldova’s territory; yet, they may temporarily become dangerous for certain social and economic activities.
