Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ – Prior to the start of the Government meeting on 24 June, Prime Minister Maia Sandu, has asked the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Vadim Brînzan, to initiate a disciplinary investigation procedure for the head of the Technical Supervision Agency (AST), Ghenadie Sajin, currently head of Ialoveni district, so as to investigate abuses and violations committed during the employment at AST, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Also, the Prime Minister has announced that any info on transfer of public property in private ownership, as well as concession transfer, fiduciary administration, transfer of state – owned enterprises to administrative – territorial units, and other activities aimed at diminishing the state's participation in public property management, as well as all public procurement, with exception info in military field, external relations, those related to state security and law enforcement, will become info of public access. There is to be registered a bill with Parliament on it. "We have discovered a lot of info about privatisations and all sorts of transactions involving public property that have been secreted, and it is very hard to try and find out what had happened there. This info must also be accessible to us, to you, and especially to general public," said Maia Sandu.
The PM has also reiterated the need for the National Integrity Authority (ANI) to work, noting that there were employed only 09 of the 46 required inspectors in institution that was due to become operational in 2017. Moreover, the employees were reduced their wages by 60 per cent. "We want inspectors to be well – paid, independent, good ANI inspectors, because they have to investigate and check the assets of many civil servants, persons with public dignity, prosecutors, judges, etc. It is also a term for external support that we have, which is why this authority must become operational as soon as possible," said the Executive's head.
Similarly, the Premier mentioned that, unlike the ANI, in the case of other civil servants the salaries have increased greatly, mentioning, for instance, that the salary of the head of the Reform Implementation Centre (CIR), Iurie Ciocan, amounts to MDL 70,000 per month. "I am surprised that there is this unit that has to deal with the reform implementation. The previous Government had been repeatedly telling us that this reform was completed in 2017. My question is why to pay salaries of MDL 70,000 when the reform is over," said Maia Sandu.
At the meeting start, the PM said that a draft law that would abolish the monopoly on public procurement by which security services are contracted, given that the state institutions are under the suspicion of dubious structures. There has been made all procurement documentation for contracting security services in such a way that there are only 03 companies that can meet the terms to provide security services to state institutions.
