Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today gave a positive note to two draft laws. One of the drafts regards the amendment of the articles to the Fiscal Code and Customs Code, which introduce a clear provision that the goods sold by the duty-free shops, pubs, restaurants are exempted from the payment of the value added tax (VAT) and excise duty only if they are placed at the exit from Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Also, the draft sees the cancellation of the exemption from VAT and excise duty for the oil products in the control customs area.

The second draft law, positively approved by the cabinet, provides for the change of the status of offices of “secretary general of the government,” “state secretary” and “head/deputy head of the territorial office of the State Chancellery” from public offices into official public offices and establishing the position of “secretary general of ministry,” which will replace the office of “state secretary general.” At the same time, the document regards the delimiting of the powers of the “state secretary” and “secretary general of the ministry.”

Also today, the government approved a decision amending the composition of the Moldovan-Russian inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation. Thus, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Vasilii Sova was appointed new head of the Moldovan side of the Commission.  The draft was worked out in the context of the new cabinet’s swearing in office.

As far as the staff is concerned, the cabinet of ministers today also ruled to dismiss from office the head of the National Social Insurances Company, Valentina Buliga, as well as the state secretary of the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, Vitalie Iurcu.
