Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/- The General Inspectorate of the Border Police urged travel and transport agencies to notify border guards about the arrival of tourist groups at the crossing points. Prior coordination mechanism and data exchange was initiated by the authorities to ease border traffic in summer, when, according to data of previous years, a higher number of passengers is recorded.
Thus, the tour operator will inform the border guards through a standard form the arrival or departure of the group of tourists. The form will be submitted 24 hours before the arrival of the race and will include data on the number of people, bus registration number, arrival time and crossing point chosen to cross the border.
The information will be received by the officers of the Border Police Coordination Operational Center and then forwarded to the selected crossing point. Based on these data, heads of the crossing points will be able to efficiently manage their work, distributing tasks and ensuring sufficient staff as processing time of documents should not exceed 30 minutes.
According to the Border Police, during the three months of summer, the number of Moldovan citizens who choose to spend their holidays abroad increases significantly. Statistics show that last summer there were about 6 million 900 thousand people crossings, up by 7% against the same period of 2017.
