Digital panels showing time of waiting public transport to be set in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - Digital informative panels will be set at the stations for waiting public transport from Moldova’s capital starting from the next autumn. With the help of these panels, passengers will be able to watch the period of time in which a certain route of trolley bus or bus arrives at the station.  

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Administration (RTEC), Dorin Ciornii, has said that, at the first phase, about 50 digital panels would be set. They will work at the stations of the principal transport knots, where the number of passengers is larger.    

Besides, a mobile application will be developed, with the help of which passengers will be able to learn the period of time in which a trolley bus or bus, they are waiting for, will come to the station. ”I would like that, through a simple application, each resident of Chisinau can see the period on which the transport means comes, so that he/she does not stay in stations and wait. And also for us to be able to do a schedule or a virtual map of the public transport – how it moves, the time intervals, where we have more problematic areas, so that we create a more comfortable public service for the residents of the Chisinau municipality. The system sees also the installation of monitors at stations,” the acting general mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, said.

Four electronic panels have been earlier set at several stations from the capital in testing regime, on which data about the time intervals of waiting the public transport was posted.
