Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - The decision on the suspension from office of more judges, taken by the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) today, is late and insufficient, with their elimination from the system necessary. Prime Minister Maia Sandu posted an announcement to this effect on her official page.

In the message, the PM noted that “a justice with dubious persons, such as Ion Druta, Radu Turcanu, Nicolae Clima, Oleg Sternioala, who fulfilled political orders and cancelled free, fair elections and recognized by the international community, cannot be regarded as independent. Their suspension from office is late and insufficient, with their elimination from the system needed.”

The prime minister also said that the process of cleaning the justice sector from corrupt people must be systemic and transparent and not at all singular. “Absolutely all persons involved in illegal acts must be punished under the law. The process can become irreversible only in this way,” Maia Sandu stressed.

Today, the Superior Council of Magistracy held a meeting and suggested the suspension from office of more judges, as well as of the leadership of the Chisinau Court in corpore. Also today, the CSM members demanded the resignation of a magistrate from the Constitutional Court, Corneliu Gurin.
