Euro, U.S. dollar cheapen against Moldovan leu

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ – The cost of European single currency (EUR) and U.S. dollar (USD) go down on 26 June against the Moldovan leu (MDL), according to the official exchange rates of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).

Thus, the value of USD depreciates by MDL 0.03 – MDL 18.17 for $1. The cost of EUR consists MDL 20.69 for €1, by MDL 0.04 less than on 25 June.

Also, the Romanian leu (RON) cheapens down to an official price of MDL 04.38.

The Russian rouble (RUB) and Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) preserve the existing exchange rates of today: UAH – MDL 0.69, and RUB – MDL 0.28.

According to the BNM's exchange rates data, in May 2019, the value of MDL depreciated, on average, by 1.6 per cent against USD – MDL 17.95 compared to MDL 17.67 in April 2019. The exchange rate of leu depreciated to the same extent at the end of month. Within the structure of the net foreign currency supply from individuals, the major part continued to EUR (75.6 per cent).
