Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry has established the taxes for hiring textbooks for the lyceum education in the next school year. An order to this effect will be published in the 28 June issue of Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
Under the document, the tax for hiring one textbook of the tenth form will vary between 4.3 and 9.3 lei. At this category, the hiring of a manual of geography for pupils studying in the Russian language will be the most expensive.
The pupils of the 11th form will pay between 4 and 11.1 lei for the hiring of one textbook and the tax for the most expensive manual hired by graduates of lyceums will be of 10 lei.
The order does not establish the exact sum a pupil will have to pay to hire the entire set of textbooks necessary for education. Yet, one mere calculation shows that, for instance, a pupil of the tenth form will need at least 55 lei.
At the same time, according to the same order, the payments of replacement for the textbooks deteriorated or lost by lyceum pupils in the previous academic year were established. Thus, the pupils who lost the textbooks of Romanian language, meant for pupils studying in Russian, will have to pay most money – 111 lei.
The local specialty bodies in the education sector will monitor the correctness of the collection of payments for hiring manuals.
