Moldovan delegation meets chairman of Russian State Duma in Moscow

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii met Chairman of the State Duma of Russia’s Federal Assembly (parliament) Vyacheslav Volodin today, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the inter-parliamentary relations between the two states, following the creation of the parliamentary majority and the establishment of the new cabinet in Chisinau. The officials also referred to the need to use the parliamentary platform for boosting and developing the Moldovan-Russian ties.
”We are open and interested in the re-establishment of the strategic partnership with Russia on all dimensions of cooperation, including the parliamentary one,” Zinaida Grecianii said.
According to the officials, in the last years, when the inter-parliamentary relations were frozen, more subjects have accumulated, necessary to be discussed at the level of parliaments: development of economic relations, increase in the turnover, backing Moldova’s citizens who live in Russia.
The parliament speaker thanked Vyacheslav Volodin for the possibility offered to give a speech at a plenary meeting of the Russian Federal Assembly’s State Duma.
The parliament speaker today delivered a speech at the plenary meeting of the State Duma. Also, Zinaida Grecianii has scheduled meetings with Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
The parliament speaker is on a working visit to Russia on 26-27 June, at an invitation by the State’ Duma’s chairman. The delegation is made up of the deputy parliament speakers Ion Ceban and Alexandru Slusari, as well as the secretary of the parliament’s commission for national security, defence and public order, Oazu Nantoi.
