Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - The head of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS), Nicolae Chitoroaga, informed that he resigned from office today.
Nicolae Chitoroaga told by phone that the reason for the application on his resignation had been “the pressure exerted on the institution on the last period.”
„I submitted an application on resignation from office. The reason is the state of things which has emerged in the last time and the pressure exerted on the institution and on me personally. By my resignation, I hope the institution will get out of pressure and the prosecutors will be able to exercise their job duties fairly and freely,” Chitoroaga told MOLDPRES.
Nicolae Chitoroaga was appointed as chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes in August 2017.
