Moldovan National Army servicemen to participate in exercises Sea Breeze 2019, Agile Hunter 2019

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 54 servicemen of the peacekeeping Battalion 22 and five general staff officers on 1-12 July will participate in the multinational exercise, Sea Breeze 2019, due at the Ciobanovka training centre from Ukraine. They will train along with military from 19 countries.
According to the contingent’s commander, Ion Cotofana, the goal of the exercise is to enhance the inter-operability of multinational troops in peacekeeping operations. Cotofana noted that the National Army would participate in Sea Breeze with 11 units of HMMWV military technology.
The National Army has been detaching servicemen to the concerned exercise starting from 2007.
At the same time, another National Army contingent today left for California, the USA, to take part in the exercise Agile Hunter 2019.
The commander of the contingent, colonel Serghei Chilivnic said that those over 100 Moldovan non-commissioned officers would train along with American military, including the North Carolina National Guard, at the Fort Irwin training centre, California, on 28 June -19 July.
The goal of the exercise is to enhance the level of inter-operability between the two armies, strengthen the defence capacities, as well as train Moldovan servicemen for peacekeeping operations.
Agile Hunter has been holding the fourth year in a row. The first two issues took place in Moldova.
