Moldovan deputy premier for reintegration meets Italian ambassador

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Vasilii Sova had a meeting with Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Valeria Biagiotti today, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.   

The deputy prime minister for reintegration thanked for the active contribution of the Italian OSCE chairmanship from 2018 and for the results achieved during its mandate, including with the coverage of important appeals in the text of the Declaration on the 5+2 negotiations in the Transnistrian settlement process, adopted at the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Milan on 7 December 2018.   

The Moldovan official welcomed Italy’s activism in the OSCE troika and the productive efforts made by Franco Frattini as Special Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship-in-office, including with the support of Slovakia’s OSCE chairmanship, exercised this year.   

The sides exchanged opinions on the consultations due in the 3+2 format, in the context of a visit to Moldova by representatives of mediators and observers in the 5+2 format of talks, due in next July.   

The officials highlighted the intention to maintain a continuous and positive dynamic in the Transnistrian settlement process, in the context of strengthening the confidence-building measures, in order to create needed premises for discussing, in the long run, fundamental issues as to the establishment of a sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian file.
