Humanitarian aid for dwellers of collapsed block – of – flats arrives to northern city of Moldova

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ – The humanitarian aid for victims of the Otaci city's collapsed block – of – flats has arrived at the destination on the morning of Saturday, 29 June. The support comes from the state reserves (RS) granted by the Government of Moldova (GM).
It has to be distributed to persons by local public authorities (APL) in the shortest possible time. Also, the contracted company has continued the demolition works of the damaged building with the help of specialised equipment. During the day, it will be exalted the platform of auxiliary materials brought by an economic agent to give access to special machinery to the upper floors.
There is checked the stability and permanent of oscillations in vicinity of building construction by rescuers for Emergency General Inspectorate (IGSU) applying laser stability sensor. "Over 20 rescuers and 07 technical units of IGSU ensure the safety of the working site. We shall continue monitoring and managing the situation on the ground," explained sources from IGSU.
A staircase of a 09 – floor block – of – flats in Otaci city, Ocnita district, collapsed on Wednesday evening, 19 June. The rescuers were able to evacuate the dwellers a few hours before the incident. The persons which found themselves homeless after the collapse of block – of – flats will receive the necessary financial resources so that they cover the damages and have a place to stay a.s.a.p., according to PM Maia Sandu and Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Vadim Branzan.
