Preliminary results indicate actual governor to become new bashkan of Gagauzia

Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ – Over 50 per cent of UTA Gagauz-Yeri voters have expressed their option for the elections of governor on Sunday, 30 June, and according to preliminary data, Irina Vlah, who previously held the mandate of Bashkan, has won the poll.
The final general data are to be announced, however, according to voting papers, processed at 23:00, Irina Vlah has obtained the majority of the votes.
"I won. It was a difficult struggle, but we shall continue to be a team to act for the benefit of autonomy and entire Moldova," said Irina Vlah at press conference immediately after announcement of preliminary results.
The first to congratulate Irina Vlah was the President of Moldova, Igor Dodon. "I am sure that the inhabitants of autonomy have voted for reforms already made by the bashkan Irina Vlah and they want a continuity of good things," said the head of state.
The vote has been followed by 192 observers.
