Retirement age increases in Moldova

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The standard retirement age increased starting from 1 July. Thus, men will be able to benefit from age limit pension only after turning 63 years, with a pensionable length of service of 34 years. Women will retire at the age of 58 years and 6 months, with a pensionable length of service of 31 years and 6 months.
The gradual increase of the standard retirement age up to 63 years and the increase in the full pensionable length of service up to 34 years, both for men and for women, has been made step by step beginning with 1 July 2017.
The standard retirement age of 63 years for men has been already attained on 1 July 2019 and the one for women will be attained on 1 July 2028. The attaining of these ages is carried out through the annual increase of the standards retirement age for men by four months and for women by six months.
According to the National Social Insurances House, both men and women can benefit from pensions also in the conditions of an incomplete pensionable length of service of at least 15 years.
