Former Moldovan economics minister, former director National Antocorruption Centre to be heard in parliament

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The former economics minister, Valeriu Lazar, and the former head of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), Viorel Chetraru, will be head by the inquiry commission for elucidating all circumstances of the embezzlement of Moldova’s banking system and investigation of the bank fraud. The head of the aforementioned commission, Alexandru Slusari, made statements to this effect at a news briefing today.
Slusari noted that, so far, more secret documents, unveiled by the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), as well as by the National Bank (BNM), had been received by the commission. Slusari also said that the MPs were expecting an answer on behalf of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG) too.
„We have received secret documents on behalf of SIS, documents from the parliamentary commission for security, from Veaceslav Negruta, something on behalf of Veaceslav Ionita. An information note came from PG today. We are expecting an answer from the government,” Slusari specified.
The lawmaker said that he hoped that he would be able to get access to the Kroll 2 report as well, described as secret by the competent authorities.
So far, the members of the inquiry commission for elucidating all circumstances of the embezzlement of Moldova’s banking system and investigation of the bank fraud have heard the former finance minister, Veaceslav Negruta, and the former head of the parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finances, Veaceslav Ionita.
