Over 4,500 citizens recently call for ambulance in Moldova

Chisinau, 01 July /MOLDPRES/ – Over 4,500 patients called for ambulance on week-end days.

According to the Pre – hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service's (AMUP) information and media communication service, over recent few days, 112 received 4,517 requests for emergency medical assistance from patients.

The emergency healthcare teams deployed throughout Moldova provided medical assistance to 839 cardiac emergency patients, including 10 cases of acute coronary syndrome, 622 neurological emergencies, 700 respiratory emergencies, 127 infectious emergencies, 456 traumatic emergencies, 19 poisonings with different substances.

The teams of AMUP, in recent 48 hours, have provided assisted transportation of 345 patients to medical institutions.

The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced for upcoming 02 days a new Yellow Code of heat. During it, the maximum air temperature is to get 34ºC.

According to physicians, so as to prevent the negative effects of heat and sunstroke, people should avoid excessive exposure to sun at 11:00 – 18:00, wear sun hats, natural clothes of light coloured, drink at least 02 litres of liquid, avoid beverages with high caffeine or sugar and eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible. The eldery should avoid walking during the midday.
