Repairs in Moldovan capital's schools, kindergartens to be finished by 25 August

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The current repair works in the schools and kindergartens from Moldova’s capital are to be finished till 25 August 2019. The deputy head of the city hall’s education, culture, youth and sport general department, Valeriu Marza, made statements to this effect at a weekly meeting of the city hall’s services today.  

According to Marza, presently, current repairs are organized at all education institutions and capital repair is carried out at 252 institutions. As much as 66.7 million lei (more than three million euros) was earmarked for capital repairs.   

Among the works carried out, there is the restoration of roofs, sanitary units, engineering networks, as well as other types of interventions, including at canteens, festivities and sports halls, washhouses, corridors, facades and windows. The Moldovan capital’s city hall also said that the works scheduled had been carried out at a level from 54 to 83 per cent.    

Also, this year, 64 kindergarten groups with a capacity of 1,920 places available, will be opened. Fifty groups out of them represent new early education institutions and another 14 groups (420 places) will be opened at kindergartens working.   

In late next August, a commission of the Chisinau city hall will check the degree of the education sector institutions’ preparation for the new 2019-2020 academic year.
