Moldovan parliament announces contest for selection of candidates for judge of constitutional court

Chisinau, 02 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Commission of legal issues, appointments and immunities has announced on Tuesday, 02 July that it has launched the contest for selection of two candidates for position judge of Constitutional Court (CC) on behalf of Moldovan Parliament.
According to legislation, the candidates for judge of CC must hold citizenship of Moldova, have a higher legal and higher professional qualification, operate in the system for at least 15 years and have not reached the age of 70 years.
In the competition dossier, the candidates will need to attach a letter of motivation, a curriculum vitae (CV), copies of study papers, criminal record and the F086E medical certificate, as well as a declaration on their own responsibility that they do not have the ban to hold a public office or public dignity stemming from a finding of the National Integrity Authority (ANI).
The candidates will submit their files in person, by post or e – mail, on 02 – 12 July 2019.
On 01 July, the Cabinet of Ministers also approved the regulations governing the selection of candidates for the post of magistrate at CC.
The CC is made up of six judges, appointed for a six – year period. Two judges are appointed by Parliament, two by Government and two by Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM).
