Deputy PM meets representatives of UN agencies in Moldova

Chisinau, 03 July /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Vasilii Sova, paid a courtesy visit to the UN Interim Resident Coordinator, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Moldova, Dima Al – Khatib, on Tuesday, 02 July, accompanied by the heads of UN agencies: UNAIDS, UNICEF, World Health Organisation (WHO), UN Women Moldova, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.
During the discussions, it was carried out a wide range of activities and projects by aforementioned agencies and aimed at promoting confidence building measures among the population on both banks of the Dniester river, highlighting their importance for proximity of inhabitants and sustainable development of the communities.
The deputy PM specified upon the need to pay increased attention to projects aimed at contributing to respect and protection of fundamental human rights in eastern districts of Moldova, with priority being given to guaranteeing the rights of the child and those in the sphere of healthcare protection, while expressing similarly full openness and willingness to develop productive cooperation to achieve tangible and sustainable results to ensure the well – being of people.
Also, Vasilii Sova drew attention to the need to increase the visibility of impact of projects, broaden their coverage and reveal the brought benefits to solving the issues of local interest and improve the quality of provided public services.
The deputy PM also mentioned the obligation to fit all external assistance projects aimed at the beneficiaries of the Transnistrian region and the Security Zone (ZS) in achieving the governmental objective of reintegrating Moldova and coordinating them with the Bureau of reintegration policy (BPR).
The officials agreed to maintain permanent cooperation and monitor the implementation process of these projects, coordinating the necessary steps to be taken on it.
