Chisinau, 3 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Yellow Code of atmospheric instability is valid almost all over Moldova till late 3 July, according to the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS).

Meteorologists said that, on the aforementioned period, thunderstorm rains, heavy rains with hail in some regions (15-25 litres/square metre) and strong wind gusting  up to 15-20 metres/second are expected in the central and southern regions.

Data of multiannual observations shows that, in July, the largest quantity of precipitation in July stood at 330 mm (in Briceni in 2003) and the largest daily quantity - 218 mm (in Chisinau in 1948).

Storms are also possible in July 6-9 days, on average, hails (from 1 to 3 days) and fog (1-2 days).

In case of Yellow Code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous; the meteorological phenomena forecast (thunderstorm rains, wind gusting, high or low air temperatures, risk of increase in the flow and level of rivers and small rivers, etc.) are usual for Moldova’s territory; yet, they may temporarily become dangerous for certain social and economic activities.
