Moldovan parliament speaker meets head of Russian State Duma's committee

Chisinau, 3 July /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii today had a meeting with the head of the committee on Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the Russian State Duma, Leonid Kalashnikov, on the sidelines of the international forum, Development of Parliamentarism, held in Moscow, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
The sides discussed the need to resume the collaboration and boost the cooperation on the parliamentary dimension, for the benefit of both countries. The parliament speaker thanked for the constant support provided to Moldova.
Leonid Kalashnikov congratulated Zinaida Greceanii on the overcoming of the political crisis, creation of the parliamentary majority and election to the office of Moldova’s parliament speaker. He voiced confidence that the new political circumstances would foster the Moldovan-Russian cooperation, including on the parliamentary dimension.
About 800 representatives from 131 countries, MPs from 85 countries and 49 parliament speakers participate in the second issue of the international forum, Development of Parliamentarism, held in Moscow on 1-3 July 2019. The initiative to organize the forum belongs to the State Duma of Russia’s Federal Assembly. The main subjects of discussion were focused on security, economy, fighting poverty and discrimination. The meeting’s goal is to promote a joint international agenda of parliamentary cooperation.
