Passing rate of Bac exams increase up to 68.7 per cent after considering complaints

Chisinau, 04 July /MOLDPRES/ – After considering the complaints, the rate of promotion of basic session of BAC exams 2019 has increased by 0.85 per cent and constituted 68.77 per cent. Over half of lyceum – leavers have obtained an average of mark 07 or above, and 18 scored mark 10 in all tests.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research's (MECC) information and media communication service, the number of candidates which passed the exams has increased by 145 ones and reached 11,803 out of the total of almost 17,000. As a result of considering the complaints, there have been increased 2,272 marks, representing 23.16 per cent of number of disputed marks and 3.58 per cent of total number of marks put in the basic session of BAC exams.
Thus, the promotion rate for the high school – leavers is 88.22 per cent, promotion rate for leavers vocational schools and centres of excellence is 49 per cent, while debtors of previous sessions passed exams in ratio of 18.97 per cent.
Compared to data of 2018 from the same stage of session, the promotion rate for high school candidates has increased by around 03 percentage points and total rate of BAC exams has increased by about 5 percentage points. There is also an increase in the average of school – leavers, and for secondary school pupils the average for BAC exams is 07.14, compared to 07.00 in 2018. A higher or equal to 07.00 averaged 57 per cent of candidates in high schools, compared to 52.5 per cent in 2018.
The number of leavers with an average mark of 07.00 or more – 6,021; 2,526 candidates with average score of 08.00 or more; 595 candidates with 09.00 or more, and 18 candidates have average mark 10.00, compared to 06 in 2018.
After there were announced preliminary results, there were filed 9,812 complaints out of total of 63,536 written and checked papers, representing 15.44 per cent. The number of appeals filed is lower compared to 2018. Most complaints were submitted to Romanian language and literature – 2,540, this being the discipline with highest number of admitted candidates. At the history of Romanians and Universal history – 1,325; English – 1,909, Geography – 1,146, and Maths – 1,045.
The additional session of BAC exams will be held on 15 – 22 July.
