Chisinau, 4 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city must be managed, no matter the political speculations. Ruslan Codreanu, who resigned from the office of acting general mayor of Moldova’s capital, made statements to this effect today. The decision was announced just hours after the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) had approved Codreanu’s dismissal from this position.
Ruslan Codreanu noted that he would not give marks to what had happened at the CMC meeting today. He recognized that there were big problems in Chisinau, which must be solved.
„When I took responsibility to manage and be an employer of the city hall, I put an end to all political speculations and everything I wanted to do was to keep the problems under control and modernize the city. The municipality should develop; it has a huge potential, only on condition that politics is no longer made in the Chisinau municipality, but management and all problems will be regarded from the administrative viewpoint,” Codreanu said.
CMC today ruled to dismiss Ruslan Codreanu and Nistor Grozavu from the offices of deputy mayors of Chisinau with the votes of 36 local councilors. The decision was taken several months before the general local elections, due on 20 October 2019.
