Museum dedicated to departed Moldovan poet to be set up in Moldova's capital

Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/ - A museum dedicated to departed poet Grigore Vieru will be created in Moldova’s capital. It will be placed in a building at the intersection of the Alexei Mateevici and Mihai Eminescu streets.
The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) today approved a draft which sees the making available of the building for use through bailement agreement to the Culture Department of the Chisinau city hall. The building will be transmitted for a period of ten tears, without possibility of privatization. The real estate has an area of 390 square metres and needs capital repair.
The former acting general mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, made the initiative to set up a museum dedicated to departed poet Grigore Vieru in the capital.
Poet Grigore Vieru was born in the Pererata village, Hotin county, presently Briceni district, on 14 February 1935. He is author of more volumes of poetry. Vieru is also the author of an ABC-book. His works were translated in the English, Russian, German, Italian, Bulgarian, as well as other languages. Grigore Vieru died in the wake of a traffic accident on 18 January 2009. At present, more schools of Moldova, a boulevard from the capital and a street in Iasi, Romania, bear his name.
