Moldova to receive additional 29-million-dollar-worth financing on behalf of U.S. Agency for International Development

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will receive an additional financing worth 29 million dollars on behalf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the implementation of more projects in the sectors of economic growth and development of local governance. Prime Minister Maia Sandu and Assistant Administrator for USAID's Bureau for Europe and Eurasia Brock Bierman signed two confirmation letters to this end in Chisinau today.
Maia Sandu thanked the United States for the support offered and gave assurances that the Moldovan authorities would make efforts for the financial sources provided to be used efficiently and transparently. According to the PM, the money will be meant for continuing more projects in sectors dealing with good governance, transparency of the decision-making process, mass media, civil society, economic development, tourism and information technology.
Assistant Administrator for USAID's Bureau for Europe and Eurasia Brock Bierman said that Moldova is one of the most hospitable countries of the world, worth being visited by foreign tourists. “We will diversify projects, will back specific projects in some sales markets and will show Moldova just as it is. We plan to support foreign tourists to come and discover Moldova,” the official said.
More projects are presently implemented with the USAID’s support in Moldova.
