Moldovan parliament speaker meets Assistant Administrator for USAID's Bureau for Europe and Eurasia

Chisinau,8 July /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii today met Assistant Administrator for USAID's Bureau for Europe and Eurasia Brock Bierman, on a visit to Chisinau, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
Zinaida Greceanii appreciated the USAID’s support and openness during years. “I thank the Government, Congress, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the citizens of the USA for the constant financial assistance provided through diverse bilateral cooperation projects. The beneficial effects of the assistance, worth more than 1.4 billion dollars, are felt by most citizens of Moldova,” the parliament speaker said.
At the same time, the speaker welcomed the signing of the two intent letters, at the governmental level, for increasing the financing meant to contribute to the economic growth. In the context, Zinaida Grecianii enumerated the priorities for the subsequent bilateral cooperation, highlighting new possibilities of development of business through the creation of an attractive environment, extension of the COMPACT Programme, backing farmers, promotion of young people, etc.
For his part, Assistant Administrator for USAID's Bureau for Europe and Eurasia Brock Bierman said that the goal of USAID was to extend opportunities for developing the bilateral relations with Moldova. “We are open, flexible and available for achieving this objective on medium term,” the American official stressed.
