Moldova's Commission for National Prize informs about starting of contest for awarding Prize, 2019 issue

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Commission for the Awarding of the National Prize today held its first meeting, chaired by Prime Minister, head of the Commission Maia Sandu. The participants in the event approved the stages of the contest, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
It is worth mentioning that the National Prize is awarded for:
1) scientific researches which have contributed to the development of science, new publications, products, processes and services with high social and economic potential and for the promotion of the image of the national science internationally;
2) designing, development and implementation of new and innovative technologies, meant for the settlement of challenges in the society and which have a positive social and economic impact;
3) creation products and artistic innovations with a significant impact on the national and international cultural heritage, which enjoyed the society’s appreciation and contributed to the promotion of the national culture internationally;
4) working out of new techniques for the development of sports performance, contribution to the promotion of sport nationally and internationally;
5) applied innovative approaching in the settlement of pressing problems, with significant impact for the community/society;
6) perseverance and abnegation in the promotion of moral/humanitarian principles, through the formation of models of social responsibility.
The recommendation letters on the participation in the contest for the awarding of the National Prize are submitted to the State Chancellery (address: Government Building, Great National Assembly Square, 1, office 616) till 17 July 2019, 17:00.
The recommendation letters are being elaborated in line with the annex No 1 to the regulation on the National Prize, approved under the Government Decision No 504 from 30 May 2018 (Official Journal, 2018, No 176-180, article 555) and must contain the following information: name, title, institution and office of the nominated person; name of the institution, scientific/honorific title of the person who recommends; arguments staying at the basis of the nomination (information on the contribution of the nominated person to the development of the activity sector/problem settled/society-related priorities tackled/changes, improvements; originality/novelty of the work/activity; short description of the results; indicators of economic/social impact; international recognition of the results; public sources for the documentation on these results/performances); the contact data of the candidate/collectives of candidates.
It is recommended that the volume of the recommendation letter does not exceed one page.
The files of the candidates/collectives of candidates, who pass the phase of consideration of the recommendation letters, will be submitted also to the address of the State Chancellery on the period 22 – 26 July 2019 (17:00) and will contain the following information:
1) Curriculum Vitae (CV);
2) the list of publications (the International Standards Book Number (ISBN) is indicated for books published in Moldova);
3) scientific/creation works (monographs, booklets, folders);
4) literary works published and registered at the National Book Chamber of Moldova;
5) copies of the letters patents and patents with their description;
6) information on the personal contribution (in case of collectives of candidates);
7) concise annotation of the work or of the general contribution, which is signed by each candidate (technical and economic indexes, results of the practical implementation, opinions of public, literary and art critics, etc.);
8) results of the implementation of new technologies, materials and techniques;
9) economic/social/cultural effect/impact of the implementation/activity;
10) related illustrative materials (audio/video registrations, pictures, schemes, maps, etc.);
11) references to public sources for documentation on the results of the work;
12) other materials/information on assessing the candidate/collective of candidates (indexes of citing ISI or Scopus, official reports, decisions, reviews, recommendations, distinctions, diplomas, etc.).
The scientific works must be presented in original and the candidate/collective of candidates to the National Prize should have the capacity of their author or co-author.
The people who hold the National Prize or State Prize, as well as the works or parts of them which were awarded prizes at earlier issues of the National Prize or State Prize will not be allowed to the contest for the awarding of the National Prize. One and the same person cannot be included as member of more collectives of candidates aspiring to the National Prize.
