Parliament speaker meets head of OSCE Mission in Moldova

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - The activity of the working group for cooperation between the Moldovan parliament and the People’s Assembly (local parliament) of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (UTA Gagauz-Yeri) will be considered by the parliament and reconstituted according to the new legislative composition till the end of the current summer session. Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii made statements to this effect at a today’s meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Claus Neukirch, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
Also, the parliament speaker approached the Transnistrian issue and priority actions to identify the best solutions.
In the context, Claus Neukirch informed about the resumption of the five-plus-two negotiations in next autumn. At the same time, the official reiterated OSCE’s support in providing the needed assistance and expertise for aspects related to human rights, Transnistrian issue, implementation of the strategy of strengthening the inter-ethnic relations in Moldova and cooperation between the parliament and the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia.
At the meeting, Zinaida Grecianii referred also to the work of the parliament’s commission for human rights and inter-ethnic relations, actions necessary for the protection of the people belonging to the ethnic minorities, as well as the ones needed to be carried out on parliamentary dimension.
