Chisinau, 9 July /MOLDPRES/ - Political, economic and social subjects of bilateral importance were discussed at a today’s meeting between Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii and Ambassador of France to Moldova Pascal Le Deunff, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

According to the speaker, the support of external partners, including the backing of France, gave confidence that Moldova is on a right path. Grecianii noted that the parliament would make effort to overcome all present problems.

At the same time, Zinaida Greceanii referred to the parliamentary work of the last period. She also touched upon the today’s parliament meeting, during which the MPs found out the non-meeting of the conditions for the office of Prosecutor General by Eduard Harunjen and recommended that the Moldovan president issues a decree on his dismissal.

For his part, Ambassador of France Pascal Le Deunff welcomed the developments in Moldova’s political life and reiterated the support for the new parliamentary majority and ruling coalition. ”I congratulate you on the election to the office of parliament speaker in a historical moment for Moldova,” the diplomat said.

The French official stressed that France was the first state to support the new ruling coalition, which, according to him, was opportune for Moldova.

Attending the meeting was the parliament’s secretary general, Adrian Albu.
