One-off childbirth allowance to increase in Moldova

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ - The one-off childbirth allowance will increase by 1,608 lei and will stand at 7,911 lei (about 380 euros). The cabinet approved a draft to this effect today.

Under the document, the parents of the children born after 1 July 2019 will receive increased allowances.

The increase by 1,608 lei will be provided instead of the box received by parents at the birth of the child within the governmental campaign, A New Life. The decision was taken, given the difficulties emerged in the process of buying assets of this set.

About 29 million lei will be needed to increase the allowance. The project’s implementation requires additional financial spending to the one planned in the state budget law for 2019.

Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Ala Nemerenco said that she was to carry out a survey among parents, so that the latter give their opinions on whether they would like to benefit from assets for the newly born children or from money.
