Comrat appeal court validates election results of bashkan on 30 June

Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Comrat Court of Appeals validated on Thursday, 11 July, the election results of the Gagauz – Yeri Governor, held on 30 June.
The court members examined the demands of central electoral commission of autonomy, as well as a complaint filed by former candidate Serghei Cimpoies. As a result, the request of Cimpoies was rejected and poll results, in which Irina Vlah won 92 per cent of votes, were declared valid.
Later, Irina Vlah asked the members of Gagauzian People's Assembly to name the date of inauguration of the new elected Bashkan. "I ask the head of People's Assembly to set the date of earliest special meeting, during which I shall take the oath so that I can guide all my forces towards a new programme of executive of region," said Vlah, quoted by gagauzinfo.md.
Irina Vlah won the first ballot of Bashkan election on 30 June, getting 91.93 per cent of vote. The businessman and member of Gagauzian People's Assembly, Serghei Cimpoies, is IInd with 07.27 per cent of votes. Candidates, Ivan Burgudji and Dmitri Manol, received less than one percent of the votes.
Irina Vlah was born on 26 February 1974 in Comrat. She has legal studies. From 15 April 2015, she held the post of governor of UTA Gagauz – Yeri. She is the first woman to take up this position.
