Public property agency to be subordinated again to economy ministry of Moldova

Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Public Property Agency (APP) will be subordinated to the executive in the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI). A draft law was adopted on Friday, 12 July, in two parliamentary readings.

The initiative belongs to MP of block ACUM, Sergiu Litvinenco, and it was criticised by the Democrats' party parliamentary faction.

According to Litvinenco, in order to ensure the implementation of state policy in the field of administration and privatisation of public property, it is judicious that the body empowered with administration and deprivatisation of state public property (APP) is subordinated to the ministry entrusted with competence to develop policy, namely MEI.

Thus, the repositioning of APP under MIE will allow the ministry to coordinate and monitor its work as to improve performance by ensuring establishment of mechanisms for supervising the activity of state – owned economic entities, implementation of mechanisms for diminishing the risks of corruption and development of control mechanisms at entity level, including through application of risk management procedures.

Previously, the APP had had the status of central administrative authority subordinated to Government of Moldova.
