Police identifies doer of recent murder in Chisinau municipality

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ – Police has identified the doer of recent murder committed a few days ago in sector Botanica of Chisinau municipality, when a woman was found breathless in a autovehicle.

Minister of Domestic Affairs, Andrei Nastase, has said on Sunday, 14 June, that doer of murder was identified on 13 July evening and he was searched for. Nastase assured that the man would be detained "as soon as possible" and would be handed over to justice.

According to the head of the Unit of combating grave crimes (DCCG) of the National Investigation Department (INI), Igor Zglavuta, the murderer is a 40 – year – old man. He had been previously tried in Russia including for murder and in Moldova for robbery. Zglavuta has also added that the victim was strangled. She had some bruises on her hands, which, according to police, denoted that the woman opposed resistance. The woman left two children behind.

Andrei Nastase has said that the identification of perpetrator was complex and complicated, including because there is no centralised record of all video cameras installed in Moldova and especially in Chisinau municipality. Due to it, the police has lost time trying to identify all video cameras on the path that the perpetrator has gone. In this context, the interior minister said he would initiate a project to provide an interactive map of all cameras operating in Moldova.

In this case, it has been initiated a criminal case for intentional killing of a person committed with premeditation and material interests.
