Romanian ambassador announces start of construction of Ungheni – Chisinau gas pipeline

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ – There have started the construction works of the Ungheni – Chisinau gas pipeline on all 07 sections. It was announced by Ambassador of Romania to Chisinau, Daniel Ionita.
Thus, the workers carry out arranging and organising works on sites, distributing and levelling Ist layer of broken stone, covering the subfunds and supporting walls. Also, there were compacted the gaps between beams and the foundations at administrative building, and there were carried out geo textile reinforcement works.
"Romania does what it says in Moldova", wrote Ambassador Daniel Ionita on his official page on a social network.
The Ungheni – Chisinau gas pipeline is IInd phase of the Iasi – Ungheni – Chisinau interconnection project. It will have a length of 120 km and a capacity to transport almost 1.5 bln m3 of natural gas yearly from Romania to Moldova. The construction of the pipeline was launched earlier in 2019.
