Ex – leadership of savings' bank to be heard in parliament of Moldova

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ – The ex – leadership of Banca de Economii /BEM/ and former PM Iurie Leanca will be heard in the Investigation Commission to elucidate all the circumstances of devaluation of Moldovan banking system and investigation of bank fraud. The announcement has been made on Monday, 15 July, during a briefing by Alexandru Slusari, head of commission.
According to cited source, so far, there have been submitted several secret documents to commission, presented by the Service of Information and Security (SIS), but also by National Bank of Moldova (BNM). Also, there have already been heard a number of state officials and ex – ministers.
"The former speaker Igor Corman, ex – acting head of BEM, Viorel Birca, and ex – Board member of BEM, Victor Bodiu, are expected to attend the hearing on Tuesday, 16 July. We shall be calling, since upcoming week, to hearings also MPs, but similarly the former leadership of BNM, ex – PM Iurie Leanca and other legal entities that made certain decisions at that time," said Slusari.
He has noted that the hearings will last throughout July, and in August the commission plans to come up with a report based upon chronological data starting 2011.
So far, the members of the Investigation Commission to elucidate all the circumstances of devaluation of banking system in Moldova and bank fraud investigation have heard ex – Minister of Finance, Veaceslav Negruta, and ex – head of parliamentary committee on economy, budget and finance, Veaceslav Ionita.
