European Union resumes budgetary support for Moldova

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ – European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, after the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, has announced the resumption of budget support for Moldova, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
By the end of the meeting of EU Foreign Affairs Council, a session attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, have announced the resumption by EU budget support for Moldova.
"I am pleased to announce today the resumption of budget support for Moldova. It is expected the amount of €14.54 mln in upcoming days. The unlocking of financial assistance is a clear sign of EU support for Moldova and its citizens, assessing the measures already taken and encouraging reforms," said Johannes Hahn.
