New volunteer rescue, fire station inaugurated in central district of Moldova

Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ – A new volunteer rescue and fire station has been inaugurated on Tuesday, July 16, in locality Mingir, Hancesti district.
Press officer of General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations /IGSU/, Liliana Puscasu, has mentioned for agency that the IGSU leadership and representatives of public authorities attended the official opening event.
According to authorities, following the activity of the new fire station, over 1,480 households, in which 5,000 persons live, can enjoy security and safety. The firefighters will intervene in liquidation of fires, but also in prevention of other exceptional situations. The new civilian rescuers, elected from local inhabitants, have already been trained by professional firefighters, and starting today they can intervene in risk situations.
IGSU also offered the station a special fire – fighting vehicle, as well as specialised equipment.
According to IGSU's data, there are over 50 rescue stations in rural areas of Moldova.
