Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - President of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) Victor Micu was dismissed from office by the CSM members today. Nine members of the Council voted for his dismissal.
Under CSM’s decision, Dorel Musteata will exercise the interim duties of CSM president.
Victor Micu thanked his colleagues for the support provided in the process of reform of the judicial system. “We have always been politically blamed. We agree that more could have been done, but I have always tried to defend the independence of the judicial system,” Micu said after his dismissal.
Judge Petru Moraru made the proposal to dismiss CSM president Victor Micu from office. Moraru showed discontent with the fact that Micu would have gone on leave while the judicial system was facing serious problems.
