Moldovan PM meets leader of Germany's Christian Democratic Union

Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Maia Sandu had a meeting with the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of Germany Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer in Berlin today. The two officials tackled the present political situation in Moldova and priority actions due to be undertaken in the nearest time, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the context, the Moldovan PM thanked the German side for the support provided on the period of the transition of power in Chisinau. Sandu referred to the main goals of the cabinet, noting that the foreign support for Moldova was more important than ever at present.
“We are determined to succeed, to implement reforms, to contribute to the growth of the economy for the well-being of the citizens,” Prime Minister Maia Sandu said.
The PM thanked for the constant support provided by Germany to Moldova, stressing that the implementation of the reforms in the justice sector, fighting corruption and the well-being of the citizens represent the foremost priorities of the government.
For her part, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer reiterated CDU’s position to back the new cabinet, emphasizing that Maia Sandu was a source of inspiration for the women from the European politics.
In this respect, the CDU leader reconfirmed willingness to support Moldova in the promotion of reforms and to share from Germany’s experience in the edification of the democratic structures.
