Euro, U.S. dollar to cheapen against Moldovan leu

Chisinau, 17 July /MOLDPRES/ - The single European currency and the U.S. dollar will cheapen on 18 July, according to the official exchange rates posted by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM). 

Thus, the dollar will lose 0.04 lei and will cost 17.65 lei. The euro will depreciate by 0.05 lei and will have a quotation of 19.80 lei.  

The Romanian leu will be cheaper as well. It will cost 4.18 lei, - by 0.01 lei less than today.   

The Ukrainian hryvnia will stay unchanged – 0.68 lei. The Russian rouble will have the same tendency and will cost in continuation 0.28 lei.  

According to the report on the work of BNM for 2018, unveiled by the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova Octavian Armasu today, last year, the national currency slightly depreciated by 0.2 per cent against the U.S. dollar and appreciated by 4.4 per cent against the euro as compared to late 2017. In average values, the Moldovan leu strengthened its positions against the American dollar and the single European currency by 9.1 per cent, and, respectively, 4.7 per cent, against the 2017 year.
