Moldovan PM asks Trade Unions Confederation to take all measures to cease privatization of sanatorium in south Ukraine resort

Chisinau 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Maia Sandu, at a today’s cabinet meeting, demanded that the National Trade Unions Confederation (CNSM) takes all measures to cease abuses in the case of the privatization of the sanatorium from Serhiivka, Ukraine, and the one from Truskavets.
„There are suspicions that they try to rob the properties of this Confederation. There is information reading that an organized crime ring attempts to illegally turn private the sanatorium Truskavets from Ukraine and carries out a comprehensive operation of taking over the sanatorium from Serhiivka,” the PM said.
At a news conference held after the cabinet meeting, Maia Sandu said that, for the time being, she did not have many details; yet, she knows that “an unlawful act is happening.” “This is not the property of the government and we cannot intervene to stop this illegal act by decision,” Sandu noted. “Therefore, we appealed to the members of the Confederation’s management to assemble and analyze what is happening and take decisions to cease this unlawful act,” the prime minister specified. According to the PM, the Prosecutor General’s Office should take note on this issue too.
Prime Minister Maia Sandu also said that the Kiev authorities would be demanded on this case as well.
On 14 June 2019, the former leadership of the Public Property Agency placed an announcement on the sale of the recovery camp for children from Serhiivka, Ukraine, at a price of 1.76 million lei, tourist base Moldova at a price of 5.52 million lei, leisure base Ceaika at a price of 2.75 million lei – prices regarded by experts as under-evaluated.
