Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Maia Sandu today congratulated the state’s institutions which had managed to persuade the European Commission, European Union to disburse the first 14.54 million euros, and the foreign financing was unblocked for Moldova in this way. Maia Sandu described the success as a first victory of this cabinet, achieved in a bit more than one month of work, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„Let’s make clear for everybody: it is about grant, donation. This money is not refundable and from now on, we have to work even more; all those who have to implement reforms should persuade the foreign partners, as well as the citizens that we are serious when we speak about commitments, so that we get the entire sum scheduled on behalf of the foreign partners and especially on behalf of EU,” the prime minister said in the beginning of the cabinet meeting.
At the same time, the PM drew the attention of the Moldovan Trade Unions Confederation (CNSM) to the fact that there were suspicions of robbing of the Confederation’s properties. Maia Sandu noted that it was about an organized crime ring which tries to illegally privatize a sanatorium from the Truskavets town, as well as the sanatorium Zolotaya Niva from the Serhiivka settlement, Ukraine.
„They are not owned by the state, but by the Confederation. And in the situation when the Prosecutor General’s Office is sleeping in continuation and does not react to this information, does not undertake anything, I think that the Confederation must take all measures, assemble at a meeting and cease these abuses against Moldova’s citizens,” Maia Sandu stressed.
In the context, Interior Minister Andrei Nastase urged the leadership of the National Trade Unions Confederation to appeal to the Interior Ministry with all evidence available, so that the law-enforcers stop these unlawful acts, within their competences.
